Day 1: Arusha/Tarangire National Park. Overnight at Tarangire simba tented lodge.
Day 2: Lake Manyara game drives + canoe + village visit. Overnight at acacia farm lodge.
Day 3: Tarangire/Serengeti National Park. Overnight at Serengeti Tortilis tented camp.
Day 4: Full day in Serengeti National Park. Overnight at Serengeti Tortilis tented camp.
Day 5: Serengeti/Ngorongoro National Park. Overnight at Ngorongoro Tortillis tented camp.
Day 6: Ngorongoro crater/Kilimanjaro airport.
Day 1: Arusha / Tarangire National Park
Early in the morning our driver will pick you from your lodge at 6:30am and drive to Tarangire Park by land cruiser. You will cross the Maasai Steppe on your way to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s fourth largest and one of its most diverse. Stop at the picturesque park gate for the driver to fill up the park’s registration book. You will go for a full day game drive in the park enjoying viewing animals in the park. Soon, the impressive Great Rift Valley Escarpment will come into view; a 2,000 foot high wall that rises up, improbably steep and incredibly tall, out of the flat plains. Elephant, buffalo, and python are seen easily regularly cross your path, un-bothered by your benign presence and going about their daily routines. You’ll meander along bush tracks and explore the Tarangire River’s twists and turns, finding elephant drinking and playing in the refreshing waters.
Note: At 3:00pm you will join a walking tour inside the park. An armed ranger will be leading the tour. At 6:00pm you will drive out to the camp about 4kms for dinner and overnight. If you need campsite inside the park you will pay extra US$ 49 per person.
Day 2: Tarangire / Lake Manyara National Park
In the morning after breakfast you will make your way to Lake Manyara park for full day game drives. Lake Manyara National Park which is among Tanzania’s smallest park. Drive through the lush garden is a gentle reminder that you are now in Africa. Exotic birdcalls fill the air. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Zebra, wildebeest, bushbuck, dik-dik and guinea fowl regularly cross your path, unbothered by your benign presence and going about their daily routines. You’ll meander along bush tracks and explore the Lake which is home of thousands of Flamingos and River’s twists and turns, finding elephant drinking and playing in the refreshing waters. After lunch you will have more game drives before you join canoe tour. In the evening you will drive to the camp for early dinner before you drive back to the park to join a night game drives tour.
Note: If time allow you will visit Maasai village in this day after the game drives and canoe. Maasai village tour is complimentary from BAS team.
Day 3: Lake Manyara / Serengeti National Park
Have an early breakfast before you drive to the Serengeti’s endless plains for afternoon and sunset game drives in the park. You will make your way around the southern edge of the crater rim, spotting the occasional hyena, elephant or African buffalo along the way. By late morning, you will arrive at the famed Serengeti National Park. The plains seem endless from this vantage point. Stop to enjoy your picnic lunch at Naabi Hill before meandering through the wildlife-rich central Serengeti. Later in the evening at your camp, you will be able to settle in to your accommodation before joining other travelers in the camp dining area for some palate teasers in anticipation of a scrumptious meal this evening. Afterwards, gather round the campfire before heading off to bed. Relax in your comfortable surroundings tonight as you are lulled to sleep by the sounds of the Serengeti plains. Overnight will be at Serengeti Tortillis tented camp.
Day 4: Serengeti / Serengeti National Park
Have a full day discovering the Serengeti on a game drive. Today is the day for the big cats; you will spot cheetah, leopard and lion. You will go out for sunrise game drive at 0600am followed by breakfast at 0830am. Then head out for more game drives until lunch time. After your lunch, you will proceed with your afternoon game drive to sunset whereby you will drive back for dinner and overnight. Overnight will be at Serengeti pimbi campsite.
Day 5: Serengeti / Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Sunrise game drives start at 06:30 am till 12:00 pm when you’ll stop for lunch. After lunch depart for the Ngorongoro Crater rim with a game drive en-route. On the way you can visit the Olduvai Gorge museum. This is optional and it will cost you an extra. Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Tortillis tented camp.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Floor/Kilimanjaro airport.
Rise early for breakfast before you spend a half day exploring the Crater Floor. The area is world-renowned in its reputation and very small in its size. You will definitely see other safari goers. Don’t let that distract you from the beauty of the place or from the fact that this remains one of the only places on earth where you may see all of the big five at once: lion, leopard, Bull Elephant, African Buffalo, and Black Rhino. To maximize your time on the crater floor, you will enjoy a special boxed lunch at a scenic picnic spot. Your journey will take you throughout this tremendous landscape that is constantly changing as animals move to and fro in search of pasture, water, or prey. Early in the evening, drive back to the airport for your flight back home/your own plan.
